Massachusetts saw the birth of the Lyceum, Baltimore saw the actualization of the Peabody Institute, and New York saw the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. All of these institutes provided programs that helped to educate adults and the educationally challenged. In all, they have obviously inspired the various institutions offering adult education all over the world today.
