Writing a Thesis is a task that every college student must perform at least once. In most classes that require a Thesis, it makes a major percentage of the overall grade for that class. Unless you plan on repeating the same class many times, you need to know how to write a Thesis. Even though it may seem like an inconvenience, learning how to write a Thesis ahead of time will save you a considerable amount of time when you actually have to sit down and write your Thesis. No matter how you look at it, Thesis writing is a skill that every college student needs to master (or at least understand). Thesis writing can seem a little intimidating, but it is actually not as bad as you may think it is.

The first step in the Thesis writing process is coming up with the topic for your paper. How you go about this will depend on your specific class and teacher. In some classes, the professor will give you a very specific topic for your Thesis. A small percentage of professors even give out the thesis statement that they want you to use. Unless you are unlucky enough to get one of these professors, you should have a good amount of choice when it comes to the topic of your Thesis writing . Most professors will simply require that you choose a topic that is relevant to the focus of the class. Because you are given this choice, you will actually be able to pick something that interests you. This will be helpful since you will spend a lot of time doing your Thesis writing.

Once you have settled on a topic for your Thesis, it is time to do a little preliminary research. While it may seem like nothing more than another waste of time, doing some general research is one of the best ways to make the Thesis writing process easier to deal with. Preliminary research should help you get a general understanding of your topic, along with allowing you to evaluate how many sources you are going to have to work with. If you feel that there are not enough sources for your topic, take some to reevaluate whether or not you should expand the focus of your Thesis writing.

The next step in the Thesis writing process is creating an outline for your paper. You should think of your outline as a a blueprint for your paper. It should break down the structure of your paper, and include all the major parts of your Thesis. Once you have done an outline, you will be able to see how much additional research you need to do.

When it comes time to do the first draft Thesis writing, you will be able to use your outline and additional research to write the draft fairly easily. As I said before, even though these things may seem like a waste of time, they actually make the process of Thesis writing much easier.

After you have written the first draft, the only thing left to do is revise and proofread. Ideally, you should not even look at your paper for a few days before the first proofread. Additionally, you should make every effort to find someone that can look over your paper for you and point out any mistakes you may have missed during your Thesis writing.
